Dallas County Harris Airplane Crash
One person has been killed and a second person injured after a small aircraft crashed into a building at the Hooks Airport on Sunday Evening. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office received a call at approximately 7:15 p.m. that a Cessna 172 had crashed from the runway at the Hooks Airport located at 8830 Boudreaux Road in Harris County near Houston.
The aircraft crashed into a hanger, catching fire and quickly burst into flame. First responders were unable to get close to the wreckage because of the intensity of the blaze from the large amount of fuel on-board the plane.
Emergency crews were finally able to get to the victims involved in the crash. However, one of the people on board the plane died at the scene. A second victim was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. The names of the victims have not been released.
